The project brief I chose to do was 'Close ups' I chose this project brief because I felt that this technique can be used for almost anything in my everyday life without me even realising. This technique can also be used outside and in the studio which will give me a variety of locations in my photographs. So far I have really enjoyed photographing close ups as its a very creative topic which allows me to be very imaginative. I also find it very interesting as the detail that is shown in each of my photographs are something that is fun to edit and experiment with. Also I haven't yet ran out of ideas therefore this project so far hasn't been a struggle which is why I am enjoying it. Furthermore I found that all the techniques that I learnt and explored before my project has extremely helped me. This is because I can develop my photographs by using some of the techniques to make my work look more complex. For example I used my personal shoot 1 photographing close ups of flowers and edited it into multiple imagery. This made this photograph more striking to look at.
I feel so far I have been very organised with this personal project this is because I have planned all my shoots so far in advance. This has made the shoots very successful and not rushed. I have also made sure I complete work diary's and technique pages straight after I have completed a shoot, this is so that I don't forget what I had recently shot and the strengths and weaknesses of it.Overall I feel that I have kept up to date with all my written work and photography shoots allowing this project to be stress free. However the thing I have found so far in this project is the research log as it took me while to find macro photographers that stood out to me. This took me longer than I thought it would however it has now allowed me to gain a lot of inspiration for my project.
In addition I feel that I have made a lot of progress since my previous projects this is because of my organisation and ideas. I feel because this personal project is a brief of my choice I enjoy what I have chosen and the ideas I have are so far are chosen with out struggle. I also feel the techniques and editing skills I have learnt building up to this project have given me more confidence to experiment with my ideas and develop them instead of choosing the easy option. I also feel I am more aware of how to use Photoshop and my knowledge of this has grown. Overall I feel that I am improving especially with my photographs as I now focus on the framing and composition of them and not just the focus of them.
