Animation- Work Diary

  This animation was taken on the location of a field and the brightness of the sun created this photograph to be very engaging for its audience. The animation was created by 4 models who were part of my photography class one at a time lifting their hands up then down. The photographs were taken for each indivdual movement and then edited by adjusting the curves and levels of them, flattening the layers, opening on the setting window a time line and then dragging the individual photographs onto the animation timeline in the order I wish them to go in. The editing of this animation was the first time I had done it therefore it was a struggle to begin with however once I understood each step it was straight forward for my next one below. Furthermore the framing of this animation could be improved as their hands are in the shot by an inch when the raise them leaving not enough space at the top.


 This animation is for my personal shoot 2 and was made for my project brief of close ups. The reason I chose to do an animation for coloured pencils is because it makes the simple man made object look very intriguing to view. Also I chose to do an animation for this because it makes a spiralling effect that grabs its audiences attention immediately. Furthermore this animation is very bright and vibrant this is because by adjusting the curves and levels of each individual photograph made the close up technique bring out the beaming colours more and make it look aesthetically professional. In addition the editing process of this animation did take a while because of the amount of layers this animation contains however the finishing images I feel are very well presented and creative.

If I would go back to the animation technique I would work more with other objects changing the colours from black and white to bright colours. I will also be using this technique more in my project because I feel its a fun way to present my work and it looks very professional as well.

This photograph is a photography animation. The animation is of a makeup artist applying a models lipstick. This animation is very clever as it only has the makeup artist arm and hand applying the lipstick moving as the rest of the photograph is a still image. The colours in this animation are very dark this allows the bright red lipstick where the movement is occurring to stand out. Furthermore the framing and composition of this animation has been accurately framed and the slight low angle to it makes the models lips enhance in size to look stunning.

This animation is a photography animation and is an animation of a ladies foot and ankle moving in a pair of heels. The animation is only allowing one heel to move which makes this animation very unique as its something different to view. Furthermore the detail on the females shoe boldly stands out and is very colourful. This animation emphasises the formal element of pattern very well as the patterned concrete and pattern shoes clash which make the animation very eye catching to look at.

This is a photography animation and is an animation of a man stepping around in a circular motion. However the creator of this animation has been very clever and has only put his leg movement in animation leaving the top half of his body in still image. I think that this animation is very affective as its different to previous ones I have seen. In addition the colours in this animation are very neutral and this could be because the photograph's main focus is the animation. Furthermore even know the colours are very natural based they are very sharp and make the photograph very high quality. Lastly the framing of this animation has been accurately done to allow space around the model to show the different path ways as he is standing on the corner.

 This animation is also a photography animation and is showing the movement of a man blowing out the party whistles. This animation is very clever as it only shows the movement of the party blowers leaving the man as a still image. Furthermore the background and the mans top are very light grey and this is to allow the vibrant colours of the party blowers to stand out. In addition this photograph has been taken in a studio and therefore the framing of the photograph has been taken and edited very well as the party blowers once they are extended do not go off the photograph they have room in front of them which makes this animation a success.

This animation is a photography animation and is an animation of cars passing by on a road and the action of the cars moving from the wing mirror. This animation is action packed and is very fast paced so that the audience get a feel of the busy night life. Furthermore the colours are very bright as the animation was taken at night time therefore night vision mode must of been used. Lastly the cars moving in this animation are blurred to show them moving at speed and make this animation look very powerful.

Work Diary- Multiple Exposure

This photograph is taken using the technique multiple exposure. The photograph is of tina and is three photographs layered onto each other to show three heads appearing. This photograph was done on the multiple exposure settings shown on my technique page and was very easy to do as the camera made the photograph overlay for me. The colors in this photograph are very neutral and the heads are a see-through effect to give a ghostly feel to the photograph which makes it look very haunting. The framing of this photograph was accurately done to make sure the heads don't over lay each other. I feel this was good practice for this technique multiple exposure however there are improvements to be made.

This photograph was taken using the technique multiple exposure and is two photograph put together. The back photograph is the side of a building showing the formal element depth. The top image is a group of 4 pretty white flowers. This photograph is showing the contrast between natural and man made. I feel that this photograph was very spontaneous but turned out very well as i'm very happy once I finished the editing of it.






If I would go back and add to this multiple exposure shoot I would take more photographs of nature and man made contrasts as I feel that this photograph above was a success therefore I could of experimented more.

Work Diary personal shoot 2

This photograph is for my second personal shoot under my project brief close up.The reason I chose to photograph coloring pencils was because the vibrant colors that they each contain has shown to enhance using the technique closeup.I really like the way I have organised the pencils in this photograph because its a very simple vertical line however the depth and angle I have taken this in makes this photograph look very professional. In addition this photograph was edited by adjusting the curves and levels by doing this made the color burst with brightness and made them stand out hugely. Overall i'm very happy with this photograph and feel its a step better than my first personal shoot.

This photograph was taken for my second personal shoot and shows the technique close up's using the coloring pencils positioned in a circle allowing the colored led to meet in the center. This produces a striking pattern and also is a fascinating way to photograph ordinary coloring pencils.Furthermore the way I edited this photograph was first of all I adjusted the curves and levels to enhance the brightness of the colored led and then converted the photograph to black and white. After this I used the rubber tool to remove the black and white layer and show the colored original layer. Overall I am very happy with this photograph and feel that it meets the requirements of my brief very well.

If I would go back to this shoot and add more the things that I would improve on and add would be taking more photographs to experiment with animation for example different shapes and to improve on my shoot I would of gathered more pencils to make the photographs even more colorful and better.

The idea of this shoot was derived from the idea of using a man made object to show the contrast from the previous shoot which was my first personal shoot capturing nature. These photographs also show the development of the close up technique that I learnt prior to this persona project. The improvements are in the detail of the texture, tones and how the colors are seen sharper and more vibrant. This shoot gave me a idea for the future to photograph different man made objects to edit in a selective color effect to emphasize the features of the objects.

This photograph is using the technique close up and is a photograph of colouring pencils. The technique close up has really enhanced the colours in this photograph as the close up technique really defines each bit of colour captured. Also the closeness of this photograph really focuses on the detail of the pencils and makes it obvious to the viewers that these are 3 dimensional objects through the lighting shone on them. I really like the organisation of this photograph and how they have layer out the pencils as its a very simple photograph but because of the close up technique it makes this photograph very fascinating to view.

This photograph shows the technique extreme close ups and is a photograph of a strawberry. The close up technique allows the strawberries striking pattern of its seeds to be shown much clearer and sharper. The close up technique also allows the vibrant reds and greens to stand out and look very eye catching. Furthermore another formal element that is massively seen in this photograph is the texture. Because of the closeness of this photograph you as the viewer can see the watery and juicy layer as the shine on the strawberry is very noticeable. In addition the framing of this photograph is very tight and there is no space around the strawberry as the close up doesn't require this.

This photograph is capturing the technique close up and in this photograph it shows an extreme close up of the fruit kiwi. I really like the idea of photographing the inside of the kiwi because the close up technique allows the extreme pattern of the seeds and detail to stand out and make the kiwi look very appealing to eat. Furthermore the colours in this photograph are very dynamic and emphasise the slimy texture of the fruit. Overall I feel that this photograph has been taken very well as the whole photograph has no distractions and has been framed to draw the audiences attention directly in the centre where the pattern is shown.

This photograph is an image of a row of colourful chalk. This photograph demonstrates the technique close up and has been taken from an angle to show the formal element depth as well. The technique close up that is used in this photograph allows the bright colours to stand out hugely and catch the eyes of the viewers viewing this photograph. I also like how the chalk has been used in front of each colour this adds more enhancement to the texture and makes the roughness of the chalk stand out.

This photograph shows the technique close up capturing a portrait of a young female. The composition and framing of this photograph has been done very well because it only includes her face in the photograph which is what close ups are meant to only include. Furthermore the technique close up allows her makeup to stand out as the vibrant red lipstick and bright yellow and green eye shadow makes her face look stunning. In addition the technique close up also  enhances the boldness of her eyes and also enhances her facial features of her cheek bones this is done by the lighting. Overall I really like this photograph and feel that the dark lighting makes this photograph look very mysterious. This photograph will inspire me with my own photographs of close up.

This photograph is a photograph of sweets using the technique close-up. This photograph is really good example of how close up enhances and brings out the texture more obvious to the viewers. This is because the sugary texture of the sewers are shown in so much detail that it makes this photograph very intriguing to look at. Furthermore the angle that this photograph has been taken allows all the sweets to be shown in a random order as well as the bag being shown as well to make this photograph different to just taking a photograph of a sweet from birds eye view.

This photograph shows the technique close up which is the project brief I have chosen to do for my personal project. This photograph is a a plant that is wet. The close up technique allows the detail of the water to be shown very clear on the plants leaves and also allows the pattern of the leaves to be shown very boldly because of how close the photograph is to the lens. Furthermore the bright dazzling green colour that this plant contains has been enhanced by the close up technique and because of this the tones are shown in the centre of the plant. Overall I feel that this photograph is very interesting to look at and is a good example of the use of the close up technique.

This photograph shows the technique close up and is a photograph capturing the humans eye. This photograph has been captured and edited to make the centre of the pupil very sharp and bold. This makes this photograph very eye catching to look at. Also because of the closeness of this photograph the detail of her eye stands out and the texture of her eye lashes and skin also stand out. I really like the way the photograph has been slightly low angled and the models looking upwards to get the full detail of her eye. Overall I really like the idea of capturing a photograph of a eye and its something I am going to do from my personal project.

This photograph shows the technique close up however it has been taken not as close as the other photographs I have been looking at. This photograph has been taken of a snow flake decoration and the reason the close up technique has been used is because it allows the snow flakes detail to be seen clearly and enhancing the striking pattern. Furthermore the way the photograph has been taken gets the tinsel and part of the tree in the photograph as well which makes this photograph overall look stunning. Lastly the frosty and shiny textures in this photograph bring a wintry feel to it and make this photograph look very professional to view.

This photograph is an image of a flower up close this is because the photographer has taken this photograph using the technique close up. The beaming red and yellow colours in this flower stand out and attract the attention of the viewers immediately. Also because this photograph is close up the soft texture of the petals are enhanced and seen very clearly. I really like the way this flower is positioned as its slightly angled to the right which makes this close up photograph very different and interesting to look at.

This photograph is showing the technique close up and is a photograph of a babies feet.I really like this photograph because it blurs out the baby and only focus on its feet. The technique close up allows the soft and delicate skin on the babies feet to be enhanced and this makes this photograph look adorable to look at. Furthermore the close up technique also brings out the detail of the lines in the babies skin which makes this photograph look very detailed to look at. In addition the colours in this photograph are very natural and because of the close up technique the tones in the babies skin are seen very clear which makes this photograph look very professional.

This photograph is of a peacocks wing and has been taken using the close up technique. I feel that this was the  right technique to use because of the variety of colours and the striking pattern of this wing that it makes it all enhance and look very pretty to look at. Also the angle and position the photograph was taken allows the wing to emerge outwards from the bottom allowing all the bright colours to blossom. I feel that this photograph is stunning to view and is one of my favourite close up photographs that I would like to photograph in the studio as one of my personal project shoots.

This photograph is of a cat and is showing the technique close up. This is because the cats face has been framed very tightly which is a requirement for heads in the technique close up. Also the close up allows the cats eyes to be seen very boldly and brings out the smooth and glassy texture very well. Furthermore the colours in this photograph are very sharp and allow the small features and details of the cat for example the whiskers to stand out and look very pretty. I really like how the cat has been captured looking upwards which makes the cat look very cute and vulnerable.

This photograph has been taken using the technique close up and is a photograph of the top of a can. The close up technique allows the texture and tones to stand out and look very appealing to view. This is because the texture is shown to look very smooth because of the lighting and metallic silver colour of the can. Furthermore the tones of this can range from light to dark and make the can look very sharp and three dimensional. Lastly the close up technique has also allows the water to stand out as well which makes this photograph look unique to view. I overall really like the angle that this photograph has been taken in and feel that this is a photograph that I can develop and experiment with.

This photograph is a photograph of someone's hand spread out. This photograph has been captured using the technique close up and I feel was the right choice because it allows the extra detail of the models hand's wrinkles to stand out. The photographers choice of using a dark background also brings out the shape of the models hand which makes this photograph very professional looking. In addition the low angle and position of the hand spread out backwards shows the hand in a interesting way instead of face on which makes this photograph very eye catching.





This photograph is using the technique close up which is the name of my personal project brief. The photograph is of a part of a guitar and has been taken to show the formal element depth as well. I really like how the photographer had chosen to photograph where the strings are and part of the centre of the guitar using the pic. Furthermore I really like how the close up technique has been edited with very low lighting and the colours are very dark which makes this photograph look very mysterious. In addition the closeness of this photograph brings out the wooden texture of the guitar which makes this photograph very realistic and professional to view.

This photograph is a photograph of a butterfly and has been taken close up to bring out the beautiful features and colours. The butterfly's colours are captured to be very vibrant and the close up technique allows the viewer to see the purples and blues blend together to make a stunning pattern. Furthermore the texture of the butterflies body stand out hugely as the fluffy texture looks exactly like you would see the butterfly in real life. In addition I really like how the photograph has blurred the background out to make sure the butterfly is the main focus.


This photograph is an image of a collection of cans. The close up photograph has been taken from birds eye view and this allows all the tops of the cans to be seen. The close up technique allows the smooth and wet texture of the cans to be emphasised and makes this photograph interesting to look at. The shiny colours of the cans are also seen much clearer because of the sharp lighting and skilful close up photography. Furthermore by using more than one can experiments more with this object and makes this photograph look more thought of and planned because there's an arrangement to it.

This photograph is showing the technique close up and is a photograph of a frog. The framing of the photograph has only captured the frogs eyes and half of its head. This is really interesting and allows the photograph to contain humour which makes it fun to the audience. Furthermore the bright greens and blues in this photograph are enhanced because of the use of the close up technique. In addition the smooth and slimy texture of the frogs skin is also emphasised by the close up technique and makes this photograph look amazing.

This photograph is a photograph of a women's body in a red dress and a town's street in the background. I really like this photograph and think that its very stunning to look at. This is because of the unique framing and how the women's face isn't shown. Furthermore the close up technique allows the bright red dress to stand out and her smooth and flawless texture of her skin too as well. In addition I really like how the photographer chose to photograph the women to the side of the photograph allowing the audience to get a feel of the culture behind this photograph.

This photograph has been taken using the technique close ups and is a photograph of a collection of Easter eggs. This photograph was taken around Easter time and by using the technique close up allows all of the beaming and bright colours stand out which conveys the fun and enjoyable time people have on Easter weekend. I really like how the photograph has been taken from birds eye view and how the Easters eggs are all in a random order which makes all the patterns and colours clash which is very eye catching.
This photograph is a photograph of an ice cube in the process of melting. The technique used in this photograph is close up photography. I think this was a good choice to use this technique because it allows the smooth texture of the ice cube to be emphasised and shown very clear. Also it allows the water to be seen as well overall showing how delicate the ice cube is. The photograph has been taken very well and the blues colours makes this photograph look very calm and relaxing.

This photograph is an image of three kit kat chocolate bars and the photographer has chosen to photograph them half eaten. This is because the use of the close up technique shows the layered crispy and rough texture of the inside of the kit kat's as well as the smooth texture. This photograph contains three different flavours which makes the colours look more affective and makes the whole photograph look interesting instead of one colour being used. Lastly I really like how the photographer has ordered them from dark to light.

This photograph is an extreme close up of a women's lips. The close up technique straight away has enhanced the glossy and smooth texture of her lips and makes them boldly stand out. Furthermore I really like how the photographer has taken this photograph because its slightly low angled to enhance the size of the models lips and make them look beautiful. In addition the close up technique also brings out the models detail on her lips very well and makes this photograph look lush as the natural pink colour is flawless.

This photograph is very different to all the photographs above because it uses the close up technique however in black and white. This makes the close up technique even more complex and stunning to look at. This photograph is of a few large leaves overlapping each other and the close up technique allows the rough and delicate texture of the leaves to be shown very clear. By converting this photograph to black and white brings out the light and dark tones in the leaves very well and makes this photograph look stunning to view.
