Photographer 1

Heather Angle

I picked the photographer 'Heather Angle' to explore her work and get ideas and inspiration from because her work focuses on the technique close ups which is the project brief I have chosen to do. I especially liked how she photographed nature and fruits as the detail she captured in them is so eye catching and incredible to look at. Also the vibrant colours she captures interest be even more into her work of photographs.

This photograph was taken by the photographer Heather Angle and is a photograph of a rose. The technique she has used in this photograph is close up and will help me with my personal project. The different shades of pinks in the rose create a very calming and graceful photograph. The close up technique allows the texture of the rose to be seen much clearer as the delicate petals are a lot more obvious then they would be in a wide angle photograph. The detail of the petals show the beauty of this rose and as a consumer I can see that this photograph has been tightly framed so that the only focus is the rose. Furthermore it also shows that you don't need different angles to make a photograph look stunning as filling the whole space with one object is enough to grab the attention of consumers.

This photograph was taken by the photographer Heather Angle and is a photograph of the inside of a kiwi. The colours in this close up photograph are so vibrant and bright which I love. This is because it makes the juicy and slimy texture of the kiwi to be shown with a lot of detail. I really like the idea of photographing the inside of fruits as it shows the striking patterns of them and makes a photograph of a fruit more interesting. The framing of this photograph again has no wasted space and is accurately taken to just show the centre of the kiwi this is because the pattern of the seeds make a great photograph.
This photograph was captured by the photographer Heather Angle and is an extreme close up photograph of a leaf. I really like this photograph as the unique pattern of the leaf is shown in such detail that its almost surreal. The close up technique used allows the texture of the leaf to be shown very clearly and the detail of the leafs roots are seen so clear as well both these points make this photograph look incredible. I also like how the photograph has framed the leaf so that it curves downwards this makes it different and very creative. The idea of capturing a close up of a leaf makes an ordinary leaf look stunning and interesting to looks at. Lastly the different tones of green in this photograph are also shown better because of the close up technique in this photograph this makes this photograph overall aesthetically beautiful.

This photograph was taken by the photographer Heather Angle and is a close up photograph of an alligators eye.The detail in this photograph is immense and shows every scale around its eye which makes this photograph look very professional. The close up technique also allows the rough texture to be seen much clearer and the vibrant colours captured in this photograph make this photograph look sensational. Furthermore the composition and framing of this photograph has been done so well which makes this photograph faultless. The timing of this photograph has been taken so well that the eye is looking directly at any consumer that looks at this photograph. I really like this photograph because of all the reasons above and feel that this photograph will be great inspiration for my own work.

This photographer has influenced me in my own personal project because the photographs that Heather Angle has captured has given me a few ideas in my own work. For example the idea of close up fruit has influenced me to photograph close ups of fruit as one of my shoots to express different vibrant colours, textures and patterns. Heather angle also photographs close ups of flowers and plants which influenced me instantly at the beginning of my project as this gave me my first idea of a location shoot to develop and photograph using my own techniques. Lastly the composition of Heathers work is very influential as the framing of the photographers are accurately captured to make sure that the close up technique has been used.

Overall to summarise all of Heather Angles photographs I feel that she is one of my favourite photographers for inspiration and ideas. This is because I love the way she captures her photographs making sure all the vibrant colours stand out and contain different tones to make the photographs look very realistic in the photographs. I also am inspired by her diverse choice of photographs as she hasn't just focused on one path of close up photographs instead she has captured different focuses that contribute to fine art photography.
