Work Diary- Personal Shoot 1

This photograph was taken for my first personal shoot 'Close ups' and this was taken for my natural and man made close up shoot. This photograph is a leaf and grabbed my attention to photograph because of its detail and shape of it. This photograph demonstrates close up very well because the framing and composition of this photograph is very tight and makes sure that the main focus is the leaf. I really like how after adjusting the curves and levels the colour of this leaf came out very eye catching and the tones shine through very well. Overall I feel that this is one of my strongest photographs so far and has given me the confidence to carry on my project.

This photograph was also taken for my first personal shoot 'Close ups' and is close up photographs of the same flower. I chose to photograph this flower because of its vibrant purple/pink colours that it contained. The flower has also made a beautiful collection of multiple imagery therefore I made the right choice to photograph it. I chose to present these close up photographs in a multiple imagery grid to show my creativity and also to show the different angles of this stunning flower. I feel that by presenting it like this makes the viewers who see this photograph fascinated instead of finding the photograph boring. This photograph shows the skills I have learnt so far and I feel overall the photographs have turned out very well.

If I would go back and add to this shoot I would of taken more photographs of close up's of leafs as I feel that a multiple imagery grid would look stunning with these natural plants.
By doing this shoot it has given me influences and ideas for a future shoot that I can do following this close up shoot. For example this shoot was a close up shoot expressing the beauty of nature therefore I could contrast this with the beauty of man made by photographing an object which is a construction made by man. Prior to this shoot I captured several technique shoots which were taken for my own benefit to gain more skills. The two techniques that were an highlight for me were close up and multiple imagery. Both these techniques I used to capture this nature close up shoot and these techniques were used to show the connection between my work before this first shoot was shot for my personal project close up.
