Keith Taylor
I chose this photographer because he has taken a lot of photographers that show the technique close up in them and this is the personal project I have chosen to do. His work also shows the beauty of nature very well and by capturing different angles makes the close up photographs of flowers look much more interesting to look at.
This photograph was taken by the photographer Keith Taylor and shows the technique close up which is the project brief I have chosen to do. In this photograph the close up brings out the detail, colour and texture out even more than an average photograph of this flower. Firstly the colours in this photograph range from deep pinks to light and refreshing yellow and greens. The colours create a very warming feel to the photograph and makes the flower look beautiful .Secondly the texture of this flower is very delicate and soft and the close up technique used helps this to be seen much better as the detail of this flower is shown so clear that you can see the texture of the flower before touching it in real life.
This photograph was taken by the photographer Keith Taylor and is a photograph of two flowers. This photograph also includes the technique blurring in it as well as close up. This makes the photograph even more interesting to look at. The close up technique creates a a beautiful photograph as the silver colours in this photograph shimmer and make the spike and rough texture of the flowers stand out even more. Furthermore the framing and composition in this photograph has been captured very well as the two flowers have been captured to have no excess space around them making sure that they are the main focuses of the photograph. I really like how the blurring of this photograph make the flowers look as if they are spinning around as their petals are positioned in a circular pattern. Overall this photograph isn't one of my favourites however I can get a few ideas to expand on in this photograph.
This photograph was also taken by the photographer Keith Taylor and uses the technique close up to make this flower stand out and look more interesting then just taking it from the centre with no technique included. The first thing that grabs my attention about this photograph is the angle it has been taken from as the flower is on a slant which makes this close up photograph different to others. The two formal elements texture and tone also stand out to me in this photograph because of the closeness of this photograph.the soft and fury textures in the stem and petals are seen much clearer and the light and dark tones of the yellow and orange colours in the petals stand out better because of the technique close up being used. Furthermore this photograph has been captured and framed amazingly as the tilt of the stem is in the photograph as well to make the angle of flower enhance even more.
The influences I gain from Keith Taylor's photography is the different angles that he photographed close up. This is because most photographers I have researched I have gained inspiration from the colours or textures of the work. However Keith Taylor captured different flowers at different angles to reflect its beauty. This has influenced me to capture photographs not just from face on but for example with my food colouring shoot I have captured photographs from high and low angles to produce different close up photographs that are more interesting for the viewers that look at my work.
Overall to summarise the more I research and explore Keith Taylor's work the more I begin to gain more inspiration from his work. I best like how all his work is focused on flowers and plants and expressing their beauty. This is because it allows me to get inspiration for my location shoots and discover more on the affect of fine art photography. This is because flowers is one of the focuses of fine art photography and is something I will include in my essay.
